Best thing to use to get dog hair off floor?

I have a black lab and he sheds uncontrollably. We have tried giving him a bath twice a week, brushing him everyday, giving him all kinds of things to help his coat keep healthy, but we just can reduce his shedding. We have hardwood floors and the black hair is way to visible and it makes us look like dirty people even though we sweep every other day. I need someone to help and give me something to pick up the hair such as a tool that is like a vacuum but u don't have to keep plugging it in. We have a swiffer but it always leaves hair behind. What do you recommend?
