Which is more durable - laminate or vinyl plank?

Vinyl. (Laminate panels look horrendous as soon as the surface gets damaged or worn - vinyl is a bit more forgiving (but not much) and you replace the odd strip that gets wrecked). Maybe some little felt doggie bootees might be answer?
