How do i plant my dogs ashes into a plant or flower pot?

i had recently had to put my dog to sleep it was very hard 4me n i decided to have him cremated. i really want him home wit me n n my family n my friend suggested i plant him in sum flowers or plant. i really want to kno how i wuld go about that n wat type of plant or flower i shuld do. has anybody done this b4? i want somethin dat wuld last cuz i really did love my dog :(
